Research Development : Introduction : The Research and Development Department of LCCI was established in 1985, as the focal point for various activities carried out in the Chamber. It was set up in response to a growing need from the business community in the region for up to date information on business and economy, processing the same to facilitate members, and interacting with the government on macro and micro business and economic policies. The Department today enjoys an enviable reputation in the country one of the leading centre for research and analysis on domestic and international business and economic issues. It is regularly consulted by the government and international agencies on important national and international policy matters. It is involved in extensive research used in nearly every discipline for recommendation and analysis of various national and international policies affecting business, trade and industry. Mission Statement : The Mission of R&D department is to act as the Think Tank and Advocacy Arm of the LCCI; research, economic issues impacting society and environment and enhancing domestic and international competitiveness, dissemination, training and capacity building. To be recognized as the premier contributor of policy advocacy, trade, investment, productivity for sustainable economic development in a knowledge based economy by promoting equity and social justice.
