Mian Shafqat Ali, the immediate past President LCCI, has been behind a number of major initiatives launched by LCCI during 2005-2006. He has been the driving force for promoting information Technology solution in day-to-day businesses. He has also played an active role in promotion of export culture of Pakistani goods especially to Afghanistan, Tajikistan and other CIS Countries. He has been the Convener of Standing Committees on infrastructure, information Technology, Reconstruction of Afghanistan, and Research and Development. He is one of the founding members of Lahore Township Industries Association (LTIA). In 1995 he founded the Pakistan Industries & Traders Associations Front (PIAF), which has ever since played an active role in futhering the cause of business community. Mian Shafqat Ali is a Director of Ramna Pipe & General Mills (Pvt) Ltd, Ramna Fittings and Pipe Industries (Pvt) Ltd and Ramna Steel (Pvt) Ltd. Business of Steel Pipe was started by his elders in 1930. Mian Shafqat Ali graduated in 1980.He passed his LLB in 1983.He also holds Master Degrees in Philosophy (1985) and Political Science (1987). Executive Courses of AOTS in Tokyo (Japan) 1994 and CBI in Rotterdam (Holland) indicate his interest in continuous learning.
